Dr. Smruti Hindaria
Dr. Smruti Hindaria earned her bachelor's degree in medicine (MBBS) from the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai between 2003 and 2009. From 2009 to 2012, she completed her postgraduate training in general surgery at Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
In January 2013, she was awarded the A.V. Baliga Prize for standing first in the MS General Surgery examination at KEM Hospital. Then, from 2012 to 2015, she got a super-specialization degree (M.Ch.) in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Mumbai's famous Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital.
She has completed a clinical internship in paediatric cardiac surgery at Fortis Hospital and Child Heart Mission, Mulund, Mumbai. She also has pursued clinical observer ship in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery from U.N. Mehta Hospital, Ahmedabad.
Since October 2015, she has been working as a consultant cardiac surgeon, performing adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries, and has successfully performed hundreds of open heart surgeries over the span of her 7-year surgical career. In November 2020, she was felicitated with the Golden Aim Award for Excellence in Healthcare (CVTS) by Dynergic Business Solutions. She is currently the only female cardiothoracic surgeon practicing in Pune. She is also the recipient of the Times Now Icon Award for healthcare in cardiac surgery for 2022. Dr. Smruti Hindaria practices cardiothoracic surgery at the Ruby Hall Clinic on Sassoon Road in Pune.
Her chief interests include minimally invasive cardiac surgery, off-pump (beating heart) coronary artery bypass grafting, total arterial revascularization, valve replacement and repair surgery, and surgery for congenital heart defects.
